The exterior of this LiteAce is one that we wanted to put an era correct spin on. The 90s Cup decal adds a great contrast to the refreshed Toyota 040 “Super White” paint. This paired with the bubbly, wedge style gives a nostalgic feel, while remaining minimalistic and clean. While the exterior features list is small, all are incredibly useful when applied in the correct way, such as the OEM Rain Guards, Rear Parking Mirror, and the Large Windows that surround the cabin, leaving minimal blind spots.
The interior truly feels like a non-Euclidian space, feeling larger on the inside than it looks on the outside. Roomy with seating for 7, it provides plenty of space for a comfortable ride, even fully loaded. The rear seats can be stowed to the sides if additional cargo space is desired, and the middle row bench can be adjusted forward and back. Additionally, the middle row can swivel 180 degrees to face the rear passengers. These different configurations also allow all rear seats to be folded into a bed, for camping on the go!
The heart of the operation is the 3Y-EU engine, pushing power through a smooth 4 speed transmission. This 2.0L engine was also found in the LiteAce trucks, and the first generation Hilux Surf, meaning parts are still readily available. Selectable 4WD brings peace of mind and allowing all year driving without worry. It comfortably does highway speeds, gladly puts up with rough terrain, and gives a retro experience like no USDM mini-van can.
