Improving perfection can seem near impossible, but after Nissan refined one of the most iconic vehicles to roam the streets of Japan; the R32 Skyline GT-R with the updated R33 GT-R, they proved that it can be done. With years of dominating competition both on and off the track prior with the R32, the R33 had to be better in every way, as to not lose the reputation Nissan had built prior. With a major focus on performance and reliability, and with modern looks, features, and tech, the R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec raised the bar for perfection.

Its no secret how special the R33 GT-R’s are all over the world. Their sleek and bold looks stand out wherever they go, with this example being no different. Retaining its signature OEM appearance, this V-Spec’s exterior has only been modified to be OEM+ in the form of clean and clear Nismo side markers, a Nismo rear bumper and one-off Dampfhammer center-locking F40 GTE Style wheels. In motion, its signature look catches eyes; but once parked this V-Spec’s signature feature (the aftermarket Prazis air ride system) drops this R33 to the ground, making it available for both function and form.

Under the hood, the monstrous heart of Godzilla, the RB26DETT has remained mostly stock, with improvements looking to only improve longevity and reliability.  An Evolve aluminum radiator and aftermarket oil cooler keeps fluid temps down, and HKS intake boots and an HPI intercooler help to keep intake temps down, further helping to feed the “276” HP that the GT-R is known for. Power is primarily sent to the rear wheels via the non-optional 5 speed manual and when slip is detected, the ATTESA E-TS Pro AWD system splits this power to each wheel individually to maximize traction as the computer sees needed. And if this V-Spec’s performance wasn’t enough, the famously loved RB26 exhaust has been extensively and carefully modified, with Nismo downpipes and full Tomei Titanium exhaust, the roar of this Twin Turbo RB is sure to catch the ear of anyone who couldn’t already see it.

Inside, the OEM+ theme has continued. Standard GT-R equipment like the extremely comfortable and hugging seats are untouched, in very good condition and show no tears, burns, or major wear. The centrally located triple gauge pod show all important information, and the digital climate controls keep the cabin comfortable in all conditions. With a slightly smaller than factory Momo steering wheel and Nismo shift knob, the feeling of being connected to the road remains a major focus. Air ride controls can be found in the center console and feature available presets for any desired ride height.

Japanese heritage, no-holds performance, and poster-worthy looks equate to one of the most iconic Nissans to leave the showroom floor. If you’re looing for the ultimate do-all Skyline, look no further. With plenty of power on tap and a comfortable ride with an unforgettable tone, GT-R’s like this one give every reason to be taken out of the garage for more than just a weekend cruise.
