The JZX100 Toyota Chaser Tourer V was a long awaited addition to many US enthusiast’s list of eligible imports, and while it has been legal for just over 2 years, this specific example is one of a kind. This Chaser not only has aesthetic upgrades, but a many performance upgrades as well, as can be seen by the list above. With some of the coolest factory JDM technology, the JZX100 Chaser is truly one of the most underrated legends to come out of 90s Japan.
As mentioned, this Chaser is a very unique example, featuring many aesthetic upgrades in specific. The exterior of this example is finished in a Black Pearl color code, which proudly accentuates the body lines of this aftermarket widebody kit. Starting at the front of the vehicle, you’ll find an aggressive front bumper that allows for tons of airflow for the large front mount intercooler. Both front fenders have been replaced with fiberglass options, with additional venting cut for the brakes. Following the trend, the sideskirts go along the vehicle with the same angular look and though simple, improve the look tremendously. The rear doors and quarter panels have widebody panels riveted on, as was popular in the era of this vehicle and truly enhances the overall aesthetic. At the rear is a similar bumper to the front which completes this Chaser’s aggressive stance and gives it a dominating presence.
Underneath its looks is this JZX100’s legendary powerplant; the 1JZ-GTE VVTi. The JZX100 Tourer V’s came with these updated motors, featuring the introduction of VVTi, a single turbo, and a reworked head, allowing for more efficiency while retaining the same power output. This example features slight modifications to improve its performance such as an HKS Intake, Front Mount Intercooler, and an aftermarket exhaust. To get all of the power to the rear wheels, the previous owner has installed a twin disk clutch.
