The third generation Hilux Surf saw many improvements over it’s predecessor, a larger body on a longer wheelbase, increased interior space, increased cargo space, dual airbags, ABS, lift-up tailgate, coil-spring suspension all around, rack and pinion steering, and aerodynamic contour designed glass headlights. Additionally, Hilux Surf versions immediately moved to 16-inch wheels and gained a center differential, enabling the use of four-wheel drive on hard surfaces without complication for the first time.
This Hilux Surf is powered by the ultra reliable 3.0L 1KZ-TE Turbo Diesel motor that is paired to a 4 speed automatic transmission. An incredibly efficient and reliable 4 cylinder that can be useful for just about any application. Arguably one of Toyota’s most reliable motors, evidenced by the fact it was used across a variety of different models and generations. This Hilux also has features such as the functional power under mirror, electronically controlled adjustable dampening suspension, power windows, mirrors, compass, barometer, and power rear window that rolls down!
This example is found in the fan favorite color code, 8L7 (Stellar Blue Pearl). It has no major damage or blemishes and features some nice aftermarket exterior parts that not only add to the look of the vehicle, but also the usability! Mounted on the roof are aftermarket Terzo Roof racks that can be utilized for anything from Kayaks or Bikes to a cargo basket for more storage. At the rear of the vehicle is a light duty towing hitch with the 7-way connector for trailer lights. As this is aftermarket, we don’t recommend any heavy towing, however it would be perfect for a fishing boat or hauling small equipment/lumber! Also at the rear is the factory spare tire mount, and a utility shovel. We doubt you’ll need to use this, as these Hilux’s are incredibly rugged and reliable, however it is there if you need it.
