The Nissan Silvia is an icon in the drift community and remains extremely popular even to this day. The first Silvia’s ever produced was back in 1975 when the S10 was introduced. Originally Nissan produced the Silvia to be a modest, sensible two-door for the lower end of the market, but tuners were drawn to the Silvia’s lightweight, front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and relatively low cost of ownership. When the S13 burst onto the scene in 1989 the drift community became enamored with this chassis. The S13 received major updates from the S12, mostly to improve the handling, including a MacPherson strut front suspension and Nissan’s first multi-link rear suspension. Even the non-turbo SR20DE paired with its lightweight frame made the S13 was the perfect platform for tuners to embrace.
If you’re in the market for a clean S13 with lots of JDM goodies look no further. This particular example features the SR20DE paired to a 5 speed manual transmission, making this a great choice for an NA-T build. As well, it does have a few period correct modifications such as adjustable ride coilovers and an HKS HiPower Exhaust.
The interior has been well maintained over the years, the seats have great bolster and the A/C blows ice cold. The dash does have a few cracks which is extremely common in older Nissans and in particular the S Chassis models.
Overall this S13 is a time capsule and the last of a dying breed. Finding S13s in general is no easy feat these days and with domestic 240SX prices skyrocketing over the past few years, demand for clean S Chassis is only rising.
