The freshly redesigned S14 chassis debuted in 1994. It was a huge leap in terms of styling and performance. The boxy design of the s13 was replaced with a more rounded style, this contributed to the illusion that the S14 was bigger than it actually was. The new chassis definitely saw it’s fair share of improvements for example the new design allowed for the S14 to be slightly wider and lower when compared to it’s predecessor. The wheelbase and track were both increased which resulted in improved handling.
This S14 has some tasty aftermarket parts, a Varis CF hood that has been color matched, 17 inch Volk racing alloy wheels AND HKS coilovers are quality additions. Inside the cockpit you will notice the oem drivers seat has been replaced with a Bride bucket seat. The WKO Aspen White paint shows well for it’s age but does have some minor blemishes and the rear bumper has started to bubble and would benefit from a paint correction. Of course this is to be expected being that it’s 26 years but otherwise the paint shines very brightly and really pops in the sun.
Overall this S Chassis just drives and sounds great. The SR20DE fires to life without hesitation and settles into a strong consistent idle. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly up and down the gears. This would certainly be a popular option to turbo if you’re in the market for a clean S14 and just can’t find what you’re looking for in the K’s model. Of course this would also be fun to enjoy just as it is. The absence of turbo lag in the naturally aspirated Q’s club means acceleration is quick and power is linear throughout the rev band.
