Finished in the stunning and every hard to find Monaco Red (R82) is one of the most iconic rally cars of the 1990s. Produced from January 1994 until February 1995. The Evo II received multiple upgrades from it’s predecessor which consisted mainly of handling improvements, including minor wheelbase adjustments, lighter front swaybar that connected via swaybar links to the front struts and bodywork tweaks including a larger spoiler. Power output was increased to 252HP from the same engine and torque was unchanged for both GSR and RS models. With each generation the car built upon the already phenomenal drive by enhancing the aero and continuing to add more power. The exterior received larger intake ducts for more flow to the factory front mount and provide superior cooling to the brakes.
The 4G63-T is a bulletproof engine built to handle serious power., Delivering power to all four wheels through a mechanical LSD means you can put down the power in any condition. It’s difficult to describe just how nimble and versatile this car is to drive without experiencing it for yourself. Considered a quick car even by today’s standards the EVO II clocks in 0-60 in 5.0 seconds.
The total production of the Mitsubishi Evolution II was 5,000 units. This included both the GSR and RS variants. The RS came lacking power windows, a radio and even air conditioning to reduce the overall weight. The GSR is the far superior option as it can be used for daily driving purposes as well as full on rally car as it features all the modern amenities at the time of production. For rally car enthusiasts you are not going to want to miss out on this iconic car. With such a limited production and very few left in circulation this Mitsubishi Evo II is a legitimate JDM unicorn.
The cluster does read 53,461km/33,219 miles but we couldn’t verify this prior to leaving Japan so we are selling as unverified. However based on the overall condition it does appear to be a lower mileage example that has been very well taken care of during it’s life in Japan.
For fans of classic rally cars the Evo II is a must have. Truly an experience for the driver every time he or she takes the EVO II out for a spin. Delivering bags of power and a very comfortable drive.
